Like all RBH VaprThrm^®  products the Hi-Rise sock works by blocking evaporative heat-loss keeping heat and moisture from moving into the insulation of the 200 weight Polartec fleece as well as your inner boot. The technology has performed beautifully (for close to 25 years) in the coldest and highest places on earth. 

After repeated requests for custom calf length Insulated Socks we now offer this version which stands 15.5" (a full 4.5" taller than the original).  The volume in the foot and ankle has been reduced to eliminate folds and pressure points to accommodate lower-volume footwear.  This is the ideal sock for telemark boots, snowboarding boots as well as trimmer mountaineering boots. Calf measurements range from 14.5" for size 5 and 16.5" for size 11 with approximately 0.33" increment between sizes. The material has minimal stretch, so if you have muscular calves that measure more than our pattern, order a custom calf circumference to avoid constricting circulation. 

Before ordering please trace your foot while standing.  Measure the length (from longest toe to heel)  and width (across the ball of your foot at the base of your toes).  Compare your measurements to our sizing chart below. If you do not fall within our standard sizing,  include your measurements for custom-made socks.  Additional $8 charge for custom-sized sole. Additional $8 for customized calf. 

The socks are made from our patented VaprThrm^® insulation - consisting of a lightweight, soft polyester wicking lining, vapor barrier film and Polartec 200 fleece. Product and materials made in USA. Machine Washable using "warm" for washer/dryer.   Color of sock may vary depending on availability of fabric..

These socks are not recommended to be worn under tight-fitting alpine ski boots.
